HELLDONE FESTIVAL Takes a Sabbatical
In the year 2010 the Helldone Festival takes a sabbatical. As we all know HIM has taken part in the New Year’s celebrations at the Tavastia Club since 1998, in the last five years as the masters of ceremonies of the Helldone Festival. This here one-off sabbatical will give the members of HIM a well-earned chance to go out and see the fireworks for the first time in 11 years.
The Helldone Festival has brought each year countless HIM fans from all over the world into the dark and cold heart of the Finnish winter. People from places as far away as Mexico and Australia have traveled to the North to witness hand picked selections of Finnish and international bands create that thing we like to call the Helldone Magic. Bands like Cathedral (UK), Amorphis (FIN), Anathema (UK), Von Hertzen Brothers (FIN), Katatonia (SWE) and The 69 Eyes (FIN).
This Helldone Magic will not disappear.
So, take care of one another, and see you next year!

First Tattoo
As I'm sitting here enjoying this beautiful morning whilst I drink my coffee I find myself reflecting on a conversation my sister and I had in the car the other day. We were talking about tattoos and what she would like to get and the meaning behind the ones she plans on getting. I told her that I would go with her because I'd like to get another and it would be her first one at the age of thirty four. Then she started saying how she couldn't believe that I had one. She thought that no matter how much I wanted one real bad that I would never get one, well I guess that saying is true that you never say never because here I am on the year that I will turn forty with my first tattoo. The reason this is a big thing is because all through the past forty years I've been deathly afraid of needles, it's one of my biggest phobias. Oh don't get me wrong because getting my tattoo hasn't changed that I'm not afraid of needles anymore, I'm still scared to death of them but during the process of getting my first tattoo it didn't hurt at all besides a little tingle here and a little tingle there. I just couldn't believe I waited so long to get one. Sure my first one is of something that tons of other people have, so what because for me it will always remind me of a special place and time in my life. Time I spent in New York with special friends and meeting new ones also. Seeing my favorite band play for three nights was the best ever and also getting a chance to meet with them was fanfvckingtastic, even though I wish I wasn't so nervous that I feel I was such a cornball but oh well...lol! The band I'm talking about is HIM from Finland. I love those five amazing and talented men so much. For me their music is the best thing to come along since sliced bread. I listen to them everyday. The lyrics are so beautifully moving that my mere words on how they make me feel could never do but I could try.
They touch my heart and they've found places so deep and so dark that now there is light shining and illuminating my world making it a much more beautiful world to be in! The fire that ignites the passion within my heart and soul, a feeling that I never want to let go, ever! The music, lyrics and the beautiful person who wrote them are my happiness. I could never express enough with words to thank them on just how much they have touched me and changed my life, I love them so much, they just rock my fvcking world. So I show it by getting the best symbol of the most amazing band in this whole entire universe and beyond! I wear a Heartagram proudly on my hand with much love and admiration for all the world to see!

Daniel Lioneye
Daniel Lioneye was first formed in 2001 and originally consisted of Ville Valo (HIM) on drums, Mige (HIM) on bass and Linde (HIM) on guitar and vocals. They released one album in the year they formed called "The King Of Rock 'n' Roll," which was a 'tongue in cheek' psychedelic stoner rock album that was only released in Finland and in Germany. They did a few festival shows in Finland under the name "Daniel Lioneye And The Joint Rollers," and the title track of the album ended up being the theme song for Bam Margera's TV show, "Viva La Bam." In 2006, "The King Of Rock 'n' Roll" was the most played Finnish song in the world (right after Sibelius, of course).
In 2008, Linde felt the need to do another Daniel Lioneye album and wanted it to be completely different than the last. Daniel Lioneye has always been about breaking boundaries so it's only natural that the second album takes a new direction. The new album is simply called "VOL II" and is heavier than the previous album, making it an extreme rock n' roll album with influences from black metal. The album is inspired by dealing with difficult situations and people, existential and religious crisis, cannabis psychosis, extreme nightmares, self-realization, sex, moving on, standing up for yourself, anger management and the universe. It's a representation of everyday life.
Daniel Lioneye is Bolton (Enochian Crescent) on drums, Burton (HIM) on keyboards and Linde (HIM) on guitars, bass and vocals.

Random thinking of the day!

change the sexes around to:
‘She is much better off without me … I wouldn’t make a good husband for anybody,’
This is just what popped in my head and I just had to write it down before I lose it. I could be so wrong on which direction my thinking has taken me. It makes my heart ache to even have to imagine that this is the feeling.
I certainly hope that this is not how you feel mister because you are wrong. You shouldn't ever feel that way. You are a very wonderful person that deserves all the love and happiness that life has to give.
"Love's the only war worth dying for."
Then you have to fight for that love no matter what. Don't give up and then have it eat at your soul every second of the day to the wonder of only what if. You need to tell the one you love exactly how you feel. Maybe the one you love loves you just as much and gets the beautiful way you expressed yourself in your music but could be a little confused and just needs to talk with you face to face, heart to heart, soul to soul.
I hope that everything works out for which sounds like could be the greatest love of all for you both! Best wishes!
